LCHR signs on to letter addressing “material support” bar injustices

The Leadership Council for Human Rights has joined with World Relief as part of Refugee Council USA and more than 30 other organizations in sending a letter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice urging a remedy to injustices caused by the “material support” bar.  Under this bar, Hmong and Montagnards who fought alongside U.S. forces during the Vietnam War, along with victims of terrorist groups who have been forced against their will to provide “material support” to them (i.e. offering food and water at gunpoint) are refused asylum inside the United States.
