The Leadership Council for Human Rights is pleased to announce the creation of the Asia, Middle East and North Africa Database Project (AMEND). The AMEND Minority Discrimination Project will shed light on discrimination against various minority groups in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa through qualitative and quantitative analysis. Through awareness of historic and ongoing discrimination, LCHR hopes to promote greater understanding of the contexts that foster intolerance and lead to the displacement of persons and communities. To amend discrimination is to guarantee that future generations will choose collaboration over conflict, focusing on our common identity as humans rather than political boundaries. To amend discrimination is to enjoy the things that make culture unique while acknowledging that we all have a part in advancing human rights across the globe.
The initial component of the database, concise reports that chronicle the longstanding oppression endured by regional minority groups, can be accessed by clicking on the links below. More profiles will be added for additional groups as they are completed. Please check back for updates.
